Three insights in achieving your dreams

Dreams are seeds waiting to be planted in the field of life.

Think as a farmer does to realise your dreams: act, wait, harvest.

Think as a farmer does to realise your dreams: act, wait, harvest.

Everyone should have a dream.  A dream is a seed, and your life is the field.  I share three insights in achieving a dream.

Take action to achieve the dream.

Sow nothing get nothing.  Do nothing get nothing.  A farmer won’t grow a harvest if they plant no seed.  Your dream has to be seeded by taking action.  My current dream is more customers for my business, so I had to go and approach potential customers by telephone, e-mail and personal visits.  I won two customers today by taking action.

Be patient.

There is no such thing as instant grow seeds.  Seeds sown in spring wont be ready to harvest until many months later in late summer.  To win a road race years ago I had to put in months of hard training first.  The seeds I have sown in getting extra customers may not manifest as work contracts or money in the bank for months.  Once the seeds are sown nature takes its own course, patience is required.

Seize the opportunity.

You have put in the work, you have waited patiently and now you harvest the results.  Once the crop is ready it has to be harvested, waiting too long the harvest is lost.  Eventually my customers will contact me with business, which is when I need to move rapidly to seize the opportunity.  Regret follows those that despite initial good effort failed to seize the opportunity to make their dream a reality at the harvest time.

  1. Sow the seed and nurture it’s growth. From seed to sprout to maturation, vegetation, dreams, goals and ambitions all require tender love, care, patience and perseverance. Like it, thanks, Alex.
